I Can Do It - Choccy Girls Get City Fix!

Kim and Fleur LCFW - Tuesday, August 24, 2010

It's been a big weekend for the Chocolate chickkies in the big smoke! Living on the Sunshine Coast is exquisite! Those of us lucky enough to live there know how priviledged we feel to be raising our kiddies there... But there is something about a good ol city fix!! We officially love Sydney!!

We were brought down here for four reasons - The Organic Expo, The Hay House I Can Do It Conference, a meeting with Hay House and meeting with our beautiful manufacturer's of Twenty8! It's been a big few days and inspirational on ALL levels!

Following on from being MC's for the amazing Sunshine Coast Business Women's Gala Awards Dinner last weekend where we were fully pumped (maybe from dancing until 3am - yes we partied til then in those exquisite Harry Who designer dresses from Zambezee in Mooloolaba until way past our bed time - oh what fun!!) but more so from seeing all those extraordinary women take out their awards and acknowledged for the incredible work they do! We had a fantastic time.

So we headed off to Sydney that week inspired beyond belief about our own journey!

Arrival on Thursday we checked into our hotel and immediately began work on our computers! Oh the peace and no interruptions! It was heaven. Face masks went on, vaporiser was lit and the gorgeous aroma of De-Stress & Revive filtered throughout the hotel floor! On Friday we ventured to the Organic Expo and met up with some great friends - Narelle Chenery from Mi-Essence and the gorgeous Malcolm Rands from EcoStore and got to sample organic chocolate, wine, champagne and even $120 a bottle organic whiskey which was actually exquisite! Well we had to give it a go! We brought all sorts of yummy treats and had a ball! Very encouraging as we are awaiting organic certification for all our beautiful products in Twenty8 which is not too far away!

The gorgeous Cyndi O'Meara, and Fleur's sister, Catherine Henderson over from NZ, met up with us in the heart of George St and the play time began! The weekend was Hay House I Can Do It Conference and it opened with an amazingly beautiful man Jeremy playing the digeridoo and giving a beautiful blessing about the land on which we live. Marcia Hinds kicked off the event and the 3,000 of us attending were in for a very inspirational and dynamic weekend.

The first speaker to grace our stage was the incomparable Wayne Dyer. Now this is the guy that got our mother's through the 70's and 80's! We have been listening to him on our audio books and reading a lot of his work. His voice is so divine as well - we could listen to him for hours. His key focus was on the shift we can all make from ambition into meaning. It wasnt about dropping our ambition but more about dropping ego-based desires to embrace a life based on gratitude and service. Right up our alley! We particularly love his book 'Excuses Be Gone' and his new one 'The Shift'.

The afternoon saw Sonia Choquette someone we hadnt heard much about or ever seen before come onto the stage in high heels and a bright red party dress! She was amazing. Her book 'Travelling at the Speed of Love' was the main focus where she explained we all need a well-deserved upgrade to our life’s ride and transform it into a comfortable, peaceful, creative journey with our Spirit at the wheel. She had us all dancing and laughing - it was brilliant! And indeed a great ride!

Saturday night in Sydney and we spent it in Darling Harbour eating exquisite fish and salad! And discussing the day's speakers. Oh simply divine!

Sunday morning we arrived at the Convention Centre buzzing! Three amazing presentations to look forward to. First up another extraordinary woman - Caroline Myss. Her new book 'Defy Gravity - Healing Beyond the Bounds of Reason has been written to help us to understand the creative power of our seven shadow passions and our seven inner graces. She believes that if we understand their power it will help us to transcend the limitations of ordinary thinking. Defy Gravity the book, teaches participants to move beyond the power of reason to enter the soul. The various healing exercises she shared and teaching us on how to channel grace into our lives was wonderful. This woman had a real passion for history and her connections with world wars, splitting of the atom and life events with our biology was fascinating!

Greg Bradden who has written a number of New York Times best selling books focused his talk on his latest one 'The Secret of Fractal Time and a New World Age'. Ok this was deep. Needed the powerpoint presentation to calculate and explain all the times he was talking about particularly everyone's fears around 2012! He merges the new laws of natures’ fractals with the ancient cycles of the universe to create a powerful model of time—Fractal Time. The Key: If you know where to look in the past, you’ll know what to expect when the same conditions repeat in the future! That was pretty fascinating and although I think we would find it hard to repeat what he said, and a few doses of Energy & Vitality was shared in our row, he was wonderful to listen to! And then to hear him play the Tibetan pipe at the end was very special!

Our final speaker for the day had Cyndi O'Meara almost beside herself!! Dr Brian Weiss who wrote 'Many Lives, Many Masters' was in fine form. He is a very gentle and unemotive character yet he had us in stitches. We loved the way he explained hypnotic regression therapy, healing visualizations and intuitional and right-brained training. What was even more amazing was the chance to experience it! The fact this guy is a trained psychiatrist who apparently shocked the world with his insights into regression therapy was so refreshing with his wonderful open and very spiritual approach. It was a fantastic way to end the weekend!

What was even more amazing was heading out for a meal I (Kim) received news that my husband's amazing and larger than life gorgeous grandmother passed away in NZ, just as we were with Dr Weiss. And although it feels incredibly sad to think we will not ever see her again in this life, after this weekend we all know we will certainly dance with her again in another form! God bless you Hazel! Our children wrote some words for her and I thought these words were particularly poignant and special. They just get it dont they!

'We will miss you sooooooooooo much Gran but at least we will see you again when we become an angel too.' Tayla aged 12

'It’s always hard to say good bye and knowing we will never see you again. But let’s face facts no one can live forever and that’s why its called life! Now you are in heaven we will be cheering you on from down here and want you to know you can also turn to us and we will be there. We always are.' Jakob aged 10

God bless their precious souls!

Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to cheer one's spirit!! We loved the Bondi Junction Shopping Centre... OMG the designer shops, the restaurants, theatre, a food hall with NO McDonalds or KFC or Red Rooster! What a treat to indulge in REAL food cooked from scratch! We will post pictures! It was very exciting and we only wish EVERY shopping centre in the country followed suit! Sad thing is you could imagine the number of complaints would out weigh the compliments!

And after a number of meetings today with our beautiful manufacturer's of Twenty8 we are absolutely buzzing and excited to be returning to our beautiful home on the Sunny Coast- although a little more Sydney shopping and eating would not go astray!

The Choccy Chicks have had a fantastic 6days all in the middle of a hung parliament election! Amazing but maybe not so surprising given all the spiritual speakers and doctors we have just listened to!

Until next time team... see you soon!

Kim & Fleur xx

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free.
